Their Sentinel Hotel wedding did not just nod at Bridgerton. It moved all the way in and settled into one of the most historically beautiful venues in the Pacific Northwest like it had always belonged there.
The result felt cinematic, but still completely personal. You know, regal without feeling stiff? Thoughtful without feeling overworked? It seems impossible but they certainly achieved it.
The Sentinel Hotel has been doing its part since 1909, which helps. The coffered gold ceilings, dark wood paneling, marble floors, and plasterwork are already doing a lot before anything gets added. It is the kind of historic Portland wedding venue that earns its own section in the blog post, because the architecture does a significant portion of the work before a single floral arrangement arrives.

Richard got ready in the Sentinel’s library. Surrounded by gorgeous dark green shelves, warm sconce lighting, blue and white porcelain on the shelves behind him, he really looked like he had simply always been there. Velvet tuxedo, floral boutonniere, and the kind of quiet confidence that not only photographs well but reads even better in person.
Jennifer made her entrance through the double doors of the Sentinel hotel suite looking like someone who had been preparing for this specific moment her entire life. Which, honestly, feels accurate. Queen energy never met a more prime example of herself.

The ceremony took place beneath the Sentinel’s gold coffered ceiling, and if you have never seen that room in person, it is a lot in the best way.
Jewel toned florals in deep crimson, plum, and violet surrounded the marble fireplace, and everything about it felt warm and grounded. The colors did what they are supposed to do in a space like that. The whole room was glowing.
The ceremony was scored by a string quartet, which sounds traditional until you find out the setlist included Toxic by Britney Spears, rendered in full classical arrangement as if it had always been chamber music and we had simply been listening to it wrong this entire time.
Guests took their seats expecting something stately. They got that too, just with a Britney interlude that landed somewhere between genuinely surprising and completely perfect for the couple walking down the aisle.

The reception was where the Bridgerton vision of this Sentinel Hotel wedding fully landed.
The neon sign that read Diamond of the Season glowed above a cascade of jewel-toned florals. Completely committed. Completely correct.
The room itself, with it’s blue walls, white plasterwork, ornate moldings, and a regal blue patterned carpet even Queen Charlotte wouldn’t scoff at, was set with plum linens, gold-rimmed china, crystal glassware, and centerpieces in saturated plums and reds that stopped people mid-conversation.
The table settings alone would justify a separate post but I will behave. Gold flatware, printed menus, place cards, the kind of layered detail that signals someone thought hard about every square inch of the table.
The Cake at This Sentinel Hotel Wedding
There is no smooth way to transition into this, so we are not going to try.
This cake did not come to play. It came to reign.
It stood six tiers tall in sage green sculpted fondant, with sugar flowers in every color cascading down the side like it had always been meant to look that way.
And here is where it gets unfair. Jennifer made the sugar flowers herself. Every single one.
So yes, while everyone else was planning a wedding, she also decided to create museum level florals out of sugar and then place them on her own cake like that is a completely reasonable thing to do.
The cake itself was created by Dream Cakes, and together it landed somewhere between technically flawless and “excuse me???”
People were fully leaving conversations to go look at it. Not politely. Like, mid sentence.
When they walked up to cut it, her reaction said everything. Arms wide, lit up, equal parts proud and delighted in a way that felt very earned.
As it should.
