From high school sweethearts to newly engaged, Sonal and Sid’s International Rose Test Garden engagement photos brought them right back to where part of their story began.

Sonal and Sid returned to the Portland Rose Garden for their engagement shoot, a familiar place full of memories from when they went to prom together a decade before. It was an incredibly special session, with smiles full of love and a purposeful engagement ring in tow. The beauty of the garden provided the perfect backdrop to commemorate their future lives together, and they will always have fond memories of the place that started it all.

A Romantic Portland Rose Garden Engagement Session

The International Test Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon holds a special place in many hearts. Boasting more than 10,000 stunning roses of different varieties, it is the perfect romantic backdrop for an engagement session and other important celebrations. With its lush blooms offering a myriad of colors and hues, it stands as a beautiful testament to lasting love and growth.

From High School Sweethearts to Newly Engaged

My favorite part about being with these two is being able to showcase that growth as a couple. The carefree and playful feel of running through the roses hand in hand, the quieter moments they shared the same breath—it told the story of their steady and flourishing love.

Perhaps it’s fitting that her name is Sonal, because her presence brightened his expression and lit up his smile more and more with each passing moment.

A Playful Ending to Their Engagement Session

We ended the session with a surprise, on the spot, (and slightly off key) rendition of “Happy Birthday,” as Sid quietly revealed that it was his birthday.

I sat in my car for a few moments after our goodbyes to relish in the cloud of silliness, sweetness, & romance that was created.
